RENDER LAYER SETUP TOOL | SCRIPTING
The Render Layer Setup Tool (left image) was developed for Maya and mental ray utilization to save time on post-production needs. Tool functionality includes selection-based light linking, automated layer/shader assignment, render layer creation for beauty, shadow, rgb mask, rgb lighting, rgb spec, matte, ao, 2D motion vector, ambient, luminance depth, wireframe, final gather, gi, various reflections passes, refraction, and subsurface scattering. Moreover, each rendered pass could then be integrated into Nuke with individual, customized nodes (bottom image), designed to simplify script complexities.
